According to the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) cost of living index tool, including grocery items, housing, utilities, transportation, health care, and miscellaneous goods and services, St. Joseph has a ranking of 92.6 percent. In comparison, Kansas City, Mo., has a cost of living index of 98.1. Boston has a cost of living index of 133.9, and Los Angeles is 135.9.
